1. Ruoff Music Center
Just 30 miles north of Indy, you’ll find the world-renowned Ruoff Music Center. Year in and year out, RMC attracts hundreds of thousands of people to take in the unmatched atmosphere and great live music. The venue has hosted several superstars, from Frank Sinatra to the Grateful Dead, and each year it has a new list of notable stars on its roster. RMC sits on 127 acres of land in central Indiana and is a must-stop for serious music fans.
2. TCU Amphitheater
The TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park is a gorgeous outdoor setting nestled in the heart of the city. TCU brings in throngs of music lovers each year thanks to its excellent location and intimate listening experience. The venue is a stone’s throw from great restaurants, hotels, and countless other amenities, making it perfect for locals and tourists alike. TCU has a capacity of 6,000 including 2,500 tickets that can be reserved under a covered canopy.
3. The Vogue
This classic Indy staple has been opening its doors to the public since 1938. While it was once a movie theater, The Vogue was converted into a club in 1977 and has been hosting live music ever since. It’s an iconic venue in the city and has hosted blockbuster artists throughout the years like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sheryl Crow, and more. The Vogue is consistently voted one of the best live music spots in the city.
4. Hi-Fi
Hi-Fi is an intimate gathering spot in the center of Fountain Square. This quaint venue offers fantastic acoustics and a place to watch a variety of local artists. There’s room for 400 people, and guests must be 21 years old to enter. All concerts are general admission and standing room only. The owners at Hi-Fi are passionate about music and it shows in all the details. The building is steeped in history and is a great place to check out the up-and-coming talent.
5. Radio Radio
Radio Radio is starting to make a name for itself when it comes to live music in Indy. The venue is basically a glorified bar but has stellar acoustics and a raw atmosphere that attracts music lovers of all varieties. This is the place to go to discover local talent before they hit the mainstream. This Fountain Square gem has an underground feel to it and is a great spot to discover new bands.
