The 2021 Jeep Renegade offers a decent selection of trim levels and special editions. Go for the Sport, or upgrade to the 80th Anniversary Edition, Latitude, Upland, Trailhawk, Limited, Jeepster, or Islander. The Renegade's unique appearance takes cues from the Wrangler but ultimately forges its own street-ready personality. Choose a model equipped with the available dual-pane panoramic sunroof to open up your cabin to the outside world. Other available exterior features include the LED Lighting Group, the passive entry system, red tow hooks, and black decals. The Renegade has seven wheel options ranging from 16-19 inches.
Engine
This year's Renegade has two engine options. The standard 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine produces 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. For more power, choose a model with the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that offers 177 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque.
Both engines are matched with a nine-speed automatic transmission and come standard with front-wheel drive.
Performance
Each trim level either has the option to upgrade to an all-wheel-drive system or comes standard with Jeep's confident four-wheel-drive system. The Trailhawk is the most confident of the Renegade's trim levels, offering performance features such as the Selec-Terrain traction control system with selectable drive modes and hill descent control. The Trailhawk also has a higher suspension to allow you to maneuver over rockier terrains. Whether you need an SUV that can maneuver through the city with ease or a rugged ride that can handle slippery and rough roads, the Renegade has you covered.
Interior
Inside the 2021 Renegade, you'll find seating for up to five passengers and up to 50.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the 60/40-split rear row folded down. As you progress through the trim levels, its list of features grows. All Renegades offer dual-zone climate control and a smartphone-friendly touch screen. Grab a Latitude to enjoy ambient interior LED lighting and premium cloth upholstery. The Limited features leather upholstery for heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Look for the available nine-speaker premium Kenwood sound system for a superior listening experience. The Renegade's upholstery is offered in black and gray.
Safety Features
The 2021 Jeep Renegade follows through on its promise of city-ready confidence with its selection of driver-assist technologies. The Renegade comes standard with a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert, which gives you an extra pair of eyes where yours can't see. The LaneSense lane departure warning with lane keep assist helps you stay on the road and in your lane. The full-speed forward collision warning with active braking can apply the Renegade's brakes it if detects an imminent collision.
