2024 Jeep Compass

The 2024 Jeep Compass is available in five trim levels: the Sport, Latitude, Latitude Lux, Limited, and off-road-oriented Trailhawk. The entry-level Sport features 17-inch aluminum wheels, LED headlights, and a blacked-out exterior appearance. Next up is the Latitude, which adds fog lights, cornering lamps, and alloy wheels. The Latitude Lux has 18-inch satin carbon wheels and a windshield wiper deicer, while the Limited trim boasts 18-inch diamond-cut wheels, a black roof, and chrome exterior trim. At the top of the lineup, the rugged Trailhawk features a 1-inch lift, all-terrain tires, skid plates, red tow hooks, and a unique appearance package showcasing its off-road prowess. Every 2024 Compass is powered by a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The I-4 is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. This powertrain provides brisk acceleration, with Jeep claiming a zero-to-60 mph time of around 8 seconds.

The latest Jeep Compass delivers a comfortable ride. Its steering is light and may feel somewhat numb, but the suspension does an admirable job absorbing bumps and imperfections. Body roll is noticeable during cornering, as the Compass is tuned more for comfort than agility. The Compass truly excels in its off-road capability, particularly in the Trailhawk trim. This model features an advanced all-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing, increased ground clearance, skid plates, and all-terrain tires, allowing it to tackle challenging trails with ease.

The cabin of the 2024 Jeep Compass is functional and straightforward in design. Base models come with cloth upholstery, while higher trims offer synthetic or genuine leather options. The front seats provide decent comfort and support, although taller drivers may find the driving position slightly cramped. Rear seat space is average for the class, with 38.3 inches of legroom. The cargo volume behind the second row measures 27.2 cubic feet, on the smaller side compared to some rivals; however, the Compass compensates for this with its versatile interior layout and available features, such as a power liftgate and an adjustable cargo floor.
