Restaurant Table with Wine Glass and FlowersWhether you’ve just met that special someone or you’ve been together for a while, when it comes to date night, you always want the evening to be special. Fortunately, there are several upscale restaurants in Indianapolis, Indiana, that will help make the night an extraordinary one. And although we all may be quarantined inside because of COVID-19, here are some great date night ideas for when everything goes back to the way it was.

Vida

Vida is dedicated to providing diners with fresh and innovative dishes inspired by cuisine from around the world. You and your date will enjoy the cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Begin your meal with a plate of yellowfin tuna, beef tartare, or foie gras. Entrees include the scallops served with Brussels sprouts and pork belly, duck breast with spiced cherry sauce, and sea bass with ginger-curry potato.

For dessert, there’s passion fruit chocolate budino, goat cheesecake, and ricotta donuts. Toast your special someone with a craft cocktail like the Velvet Snow, Cool Camaro, or Spirit of ’76. Vida also serves a wide selection of wine and beer.

The Legend Cafe

Located in Indianapolis’ historic Irvington neighborhood, The Legend CafeĀ serves sophisticated dishes in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Sharing a plate of feta cheese torta or shrimp cocktail is the perfect beginning to date night. Entrees include spinach basil mushroom ravioli, beer-braised carnitas, and chef’s choice salmon.

Share a fudge brownie, a slice of carrot cake, or creme brulee for dessert. Or, ask your server what ice cream flavor of the week is. The Legend Cafe makes its own ice cream in-house with rotating flavors every week. The cafe also serves up a wide selection of wine and craft beer from local breweries.

Meridian Restaurant & Bar

Located on beautiful Meridian Street, Meridian Restaurant & Bar is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy a night out with your sweetheart. A stunning patio gives you views of stunning historic homes and the natural scenery of Alice Carter Park. The dining room is cozy and intimate. Every menu item is made from scratch using ingredients from the area’s best farms and suppliers. Start your meal with a plate of seared scallops, fried oysters, or acorn squash ravioli.

Entrees include shellfish linguine, pork shank stew, and wild boar Bolognese. If you’re in the mood for something lighter, try the artisan greens, roasted beets, or Caesar salads. For dessert, there’s chocolate mint cake, butterscotch creme brulee, or banana bread pudding. The full bar serves a fantastic selection of martinis and other craft cocktails.

Spoke & Steele

Chef Erin Gillum, head chef of Spoke & Steele, works closely with local farms to source the freshest and finest ingredients for dishes you won’t find anywhere else. Your memorable evening begins with a plate of lobster & shrimp potstickers, lamb masala meatballs, or roasted sweet potato hummus. The impressive raw bar features peel & eat shrimp, raw oysters, and a deconstructed sushi roll. Entrees include Chilean sea bass, maple leaf duck breast with curried cauliflower rice, and paella pasta. The dessert menu includes chocolate churros, caramel bread pudding, and an assortment of homemade gelato.

These are just some of the excellent date night spots in Indianapolis. No matter which one you choose, you and your special someone are sure to have a wonderful evening.
