2019 Dodge Journey InteriorAlong with its muscle cars, Dodge offers two family SUVs: the Durango and the Journey. The Durango is the bigger vehicle and comes with a longer feature list, but in exchange it costs more than the Journey and it isn’t as fuel-efficient. It’s up to you to decide which Dodge SUV is best, but if you pick the Journey you can count on the following features.

  1. Dodge Muscle

The 2019 Journey might be a family crossover, but it’s also a Dodge vehicle. That means its engines offer some serious power, and you can get one of two engines depending on the trim and package you choose. The base engine is a 2.4-liter I-4 that gives you up to 25 mpg on the highway. Between that and the generous gas tank, a Journey with the I-4 can go an estimated 500 miles on a single gallon of gas. The bigger engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 that offers 283 horsepower and can tow up to 2,500 pounds.

  1. Intelligent Safety

The 2019 Dodge Journey comes with all the safety features you’d expect. It offers seven air bags that include a driver knee bag, active head restraints that jump forward during a rear-end collision to keep your head and neck safe, and an electronic stability control system that helps you maintain traction on slippery roads. You also get the ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera standard on every trim, and the available ParkSense Rear Park Assist System, which uses ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles behind your rear bumper when you’re in reverse.

  1. Surprising Space

The 2019 Journey is part of the midsize crossover class, so it’s not the biggest SUV on the market. However, Dodge has still found room to give the Journey a third row of seats, and the second row slides forward to make them easy to access. With all the seats up, the Journey gives you 10.7 cubic feet for cargo, but you can also fold the back rows flat and get up to 67.6 cubic feet. On top of that, the Journey has an in-floor cargo space in the back for secure storage and a second bin between the seats.

  1. Useful Technology

The base trim of the 2019 Dodge Journey comes standard with a 4.3-inch touch-screen display. The interface is easy enough to use, but on the three top trims you can upgrade to the 8.4-inch display equipped with Uconnect 3 and an available navigation system. The bigger infotainment screen also comes with a complimentary year’s subscription to SiriusXM Radio, and between that and services such as Travel Link and Traffic, your Journey’s onboard computer can really help you get around. Other upgrades include premium speakers and a rear-seat entertainment system.

The Dodge Journey might not have the most features or the biggest engines Dodge has to offer, but it still makes a great choice for families that need plenty of space on a budget. With the 2019 Journey, you’ll get power, you’ll get safety, and you’ll get plenty of features you can appreciate.
