Silver 2021 Ram 2500 in Front of Rocky MountainsThe Ram 2500 provides drivers with a pickup truck that gets the tough jobs done and does it in style. Ram sets the standard for quality and refinement in a truck, with plush cabin interiors and the smoothest ride you’ll experience behind the wheel. The 2021 Ram 2500 has just some minor updates, and there is a new Limited Night Edition available with some black trim elements and special badging.

The Model Lineup

The Tradesman is the entry-level Ram 2500. It comes with 17-inch steel wheels, bold black bumpers, a black mesh grille, and halogen headlights. The Big Horn is next in the lineup with a chrome grille surround, 18-inch steel wheels, and chrome bumpers, while the Power Wagon has off-road equipment such as tow hooks, a winch, and a manual transfer case. It also comes with black fender flares, an off-road grille, and powder-coated bumpers.

Step up to the Laramie for a chrome billet grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, and body-colored fender flares, to the Longhorn for LED headlights, chrome side steps, LED bed lighting, a spray-in bed liner, and remote tailgate release. The upscale Limited has 20-inch wheels, power-deployable running boards, and it comes standard with the RamBox storage system in the bed.

The Power

The base engine for the 2021 Ram 2500 is a 6.4-liter V-8 gas engine with 410 horsepower. A 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-8 is optional for all models except the Power Wagon. It puts out 370 horsepower and generates 850 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is also standard on all trims except the Power Wagon, which comes with four-wheel drive. All the other models offer the four-wheel-drive system as an option.

Towing Power and Hauling Capabilities

The 2021 Ram 2500 has excellent towing power. It can handle up to 16,870 pounds with the Cummins turbodiesel engine. This powertrain will also handle up to 3,240 pounds in the bed. The standard V-8 engine can still tow an impressive 14,370 pounds and haul the same weight as the turbodiesel in the bed.

The Technology

The technology features in the Ram 2500 are worth talking about. The base system uses an 8-inch touch screen and the Uconnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but a giant 12.0-inch touch screen is optional or standard in higher trims. This configurable screen features navigation and comes with a Wi-Fi hot spot. Additional upgrade options include a 17-speaker Harmon Kardon stereo system, satellite radio, and wireless charging.

The Safety Features

Ram made several advanced safety features available for their Ram trucks. No matter which trim you have, it will come with a rearview camera, hill start assist, and a trailer-sway control system. All models also offer the option for the Safety Group Package. Opting for this will get you adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, a digital rearview camera, and forward-collision warning. Lane-keeping assist and lane-departure alert are also part of this group.
